Our Public Beaches Are Some Of The Most Pristine Beaches Anywhere In The World.  There Are Many Public Beaches To Choose From, And Here Are Two Of Our Most Popular:

South Hutchinson Island Beach

With an abundance of pristine beaches and easy public access, Hutchinson Island is everyone's favorite destination on Florida's Atlantic coast.  Much of the island remains like Florida's beaches use to be, when you could just pull-off to the side of A1A and stroll through the sand dunes walking straight to the ocean.

Both Martin & St. Lucie Counties, which share this barrier island have carved out dozens of beach paths from one end of the island to the other, some being more primitive that others, some larger, and many smaller.  There are of course, the main beaches where large parking lots accommodate large crowds of beach-goers, but there are also many pocket parks where you just pull off the road onto hard-packed sand and walk for miles.

Facilities include a boardwalk, freshwater showers, dressing rooms, picnic tables, and beach lifeguards at 5-locations throughout the year.

Fort Pierce Inlet State Park

The shores and coastal waters at this park provide an abundance of recreational opportunities.  The breathtakingly beautiful half-mile beach welcomes visitors for swimming, snorkeling, surfing, and scuba diving.  Beach-combing, a picnic, or just relaxing on the sand are also popular activities.

Dynamite Point was once the training site for the WWII Navy Frogmen, but is now a haven for birdwatchers.  Along the south-end of the park, the Fort Pierce Inlet is a popular place for anglers to catch tier dinners.  Jack Island Preserve located one-mile north of the park has trails for hiking, bicycling, and nature studies.

At the west-end of Marsh Rabbit Run Trail, visitors can climb an observation tower to get a birds-eye view on the Indian River and the island.  A primitive youth/group campground is available on a reservation basis: please call the park!  Located four miles east of Fort Pierce, via North Causeway.

Deep Sea Fishing

The Sailfish capital of the world, as it's know as!  Deep sea fishing off the Treasure Coast of Fort Pierce is spectacular.  With an abundance of Sailfish, Marlin, Dolphin, Tuna, Kingfish, Wahoo, Cobia, Grouper, Snapper, Amberjack, you will be assured to catch something for the dinner table.

There are several charter fishing boats located at the marina's up & down the Treasure Coast, so make sure you book-one early for your offshore or inshore fishing venture.

Recreational Boating

There are 6-free public boat launching ramps, several yacht basins, and many accessible waterways, including the Atlantic Ocean, Inter-Coastal Waterway, Fort Pierce Inlet, and the St. Lucie River (18-miles south) making recreational boating a popular hobby in St. Lucie County.

Up & Down the intercoastal waterway there are several waterside cafe's, restaurants, bars that can be easily accessed by boat.  There are plenty of sandy islands to pull-up on and enjoy the outdoor weather while boating on the Treasure Coast.

Tour Guides & River Cruises

Our Spanish Lakes River Front community is located directly on the Indian River, and encompasses miles of river frontage.  There is also a private boat launching ramp within the community providing easy access to the river, with a secure storage facility for boats, trailers, and recreational vehicles.

Glide past the North Fork riverbank of the St. Lucie River, thick with lush foliage and mangrove trees on the Water Lilly River Cruise.  From the deck of this 10-passenger covered pontoon boat you will explore the backwaters of "Real Florida".  Experience "Bird Island" with the mangroves, a remote nesting area housing a wide variety of native birds, and maybe an occasional alligator.  See Florida's wildlife at it's best naturally.

Located at Rivergate Park, on Midport Road in Port St. Lucie, just 2-blocks north of Port St. Lucie Boulevard, across from the US Post Office.  Call Water Lilly River Cruses: (772) 489-8344

Ride through one of the County's most beautiful untouched eco-systems, the Indian River Lagoon.  Experience the beauty of wild dolphins and many other species of wildlife that thrive in the Indian River.  Hundreds of dolphins have been identified in the Indian River Lagoon.  Ride with no more than six passengers on an intimate Florida Dolphin Watch Boat.  Tour through the Fort Pierce Inlet State Park and Jack Island Wildlife Preserve. The Florida Dolphin Watch Boat is located at South Bridge Marina (772) 466-4660.
