50s Dance Night at Spanish Lakes Country Club Village

There's no slowing down in retirement - at least not when it comes to fun and social events!

Living at Spanish Lakes means having just about as much fun as you could want to have. From happy hours and hobby club gatherings to holiday parties and more, there's really no end to the social events residents can enjoy.

On January 28th, members of the Spanish Lakes Country Club Village tennis club organized a 50s Dance, complete with DJ, dance contests, a 50/50 raffle, and more. It was a fantastic time, with friends showing off their twist, jitterbug, hand jive, and more, as you'll see in the photos below.

At Spanish Lakes, we just don't tire of the "Oldies but Goodies."

The DJ didn't neglect to include a selection of the best slow songs from the 1950s, like the popular doo-wop hit "In the Still of the Night" by The Five Satins.

Most residents elected to bring their own cold beverages to provide refreshment between dance sessions. We would say the beers and wine were well-earned.

Hours of fun was had - our photographer couldn't stay to catch it all!

Did you know that each the five Spanish Lakes communities has its own large auditorium? These spaces make the perfect venue for dances and other evening socials, typically organized by various resident-led social and sporting clubs.
